Abstract
Strategic planning is being successfully used in all American Universities. Its widespread application has become lately the result of changes in U.S. educational policies implemented by the Obama Administration. These changes are aimed at increasing the efficiency of federal budget resources distribution which is directly linked with the effectiveness of universities'' academic curriculum. Growing financial difficulties are forcing the American universities to behave like corporations in the market.
