Abstract
The article is devoted to researching the recent transformations in the American mechanism and practices of lobbying. Historically lobbying in the United States have been one of the most important and interesting features of the American political system. In the XXI century traditional forms of lobbying are going through serious changes, being also supplemented by new ones. The article addresses the following trends in the evolution of American lobby: first, transformation of lobbying mechanism through election campaign finances; second, the boost of corporate lobby, third, lobbying through influencing public opinion. The authors also investigate what implications of lobby transformation would have on Russian-American relations, what challenges will be faced, what opportunities would appear for pursuing Russian national interests.
