Abstract
In the late XIX - beginning of the XX century the United States carried out the policy of interference into the internal affairs of their neighbors. The second half of the XX century and, in particular, the beginning of the XXI century were characterized by new tendencies: gradual ousting of the United States from the region of South and Central America; replacement of the leader of the South American integration where the role of the United States as the locomotive of the integration was assumed by Brazil. The topic of the article - interamerican relations in the Western Hemisphere at the end of the XX - beginning of the XXI century.
