- Abstract
- The article describes evolution of non-profit research centers in the USA (so called, «think tanks»). It deals with their history, spheres of specialization, ideological orientation and directions of research. A special attention is paid to such issues as sources and methods of funding, organization and personnel management. The author formulates conclusions about «think tanks» influence on political decisions and social development in general.
