Abstract
In December 2012 Russia and USA made an exchange of acts: Magnitski Act adopted by U.S. Congress versus the Dima Yakovlev Act by the State Duma. The result was easily predictable – a political crisis of indefinite magnitude. This article examines the type and scope of this crisis, its significance for the relations between the two nations, and future development options.
