- Abstract
- U.S. President B. Obama promised to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan by 2014. What type of consequences may be expected for the state of affairs in the Central Asia and for the Asian continent at large? Russia is actively interested in this part of the world and tries to identify for itself what it may inherit once USA is out. It may try to follow the line of cooperation with USA and plan for a system of joint control over events together with U.S. and other big nations (China and India) or it should expect confrontation if Washington decides to avoid cooperation.
