Abstract
In the article a comparison of the NASA’s perspectives on strategic vision for America’s human space program under the Bush Republican and the Obama Democratic administrations is undertaken. It is stressed that Democrats’ cancellation of “return to the Moon” by 2020 has broken up forming consensus on the strategy of crew space flights within U.S. political elite and experts’ community. This decision influenced the U.S. aerospace manufacturing industry extremely negatively. But on the other hand favorable domestic situation in the USA is pushing Washington to conduct joint human exploration of the Moon in cooperation with Russia.
