Abstract

In the article the author considers the actual evolution of ideological platform of the U.S. Republican Party. It appeals to religious conservatism more and more and strives for consolidation of the religious electorate. This tendency is based on their belief in superiority of America and its historical mission. Thereby the role of religion and influence of the Christian Right becomes determinative within the Republican Party and its voters.
