- Abstract
- The article is devoted to the research of financial donations from foreign states to the leading U.S. analytical centers. Analyzing the statistical data, author concludes that the foreign means make a considerable part of revenues in several U.S. leading organizations. These finances arrive in form of donations or grants. According to the statements of the chiefs of the leading think tanks, the key difference between the activity of analytical centers and lobbyist organizations consists in the fact, that financial receipts from donors do not influence the position of expert center and the objectivity of its research. However, a number of researchers assert that grants and donations are a payment for promotion of foreign countries interests in the U.S. political establishment. The author confirms this thesis analyzing several cases of cooperation between the foreign financial donors and U.S. analytical centers.
