- Abstract
- The article analyzes the main provisions of American language ideology and of American linguistic imperialism. It is shown that the dominant position of the Anglo-American language is the result of a deliberate policy pursued since the 1950s first by Britain and then by the United States to achieve its political and, above all, economic interests.
