- Abstract
- In the article a new book by professor Herken is critically estimated. On the basis of comparison of some the cold war stories with modern time it is argued, that, despite cardinal change of world order after collapse of communism, some important features of American political elite have been preserved. These are simplistic, black and white perception of Russia, big exaggeration of anti-western intentions and power of our country. Moreover it is substantiated that in comparison with the past the level of understanding of Russia by modern U.S. leadership demonstrates a significant fall.
