Abstract
After the Trudeau government came to power in 2015, the discussions regarding liberal traditions and philosophy of Canadian foreign policy resumed. The theory of multilateralism and main principles of multilateral diplomacy were elaborated in Canada in the period known as the golden age of Canadian diplomacy (1947-1957). One of the most prominent figures of that time was Lester B. Pearson, Secretary of State for External Affairs and then, the Prime Minister of Canada. The article re views how the Pearson's personal views influenced the Canadian foreign policy, and what was his role in the resolution of the Suez crisis -1956.
