Abstract
The article looks systematically at certain text features, which hinder the readers apprehension. A quantitative estimate of such features has been suggested; one such instance is the number of tropes (metaphors and metonyms) in the text. The method is applied to Pasternaks book of poetry My Sister Life. For comparison purposes, we take into account some works by Pushkin, Nekrasov, Mayakovsky and other Russian poets, especially Mandelstam.
Keywords
problems of textual apprehension, metaphor, metonymy, quantitative methods in poetics, poetry by Pasternak, poetry by Mandelstam
