- Abstract
- The world amount of raw diamond mining is falling and no new sources discovered, while the demand for the raw diamonds is growing. These factors make the issue of effi cient use of raw diamonds extremely important. The Input-Output model is constructed for the production of diamonds with unique system of raw diamond processing. The model allows calculating the weight loss of the raw diamonds (taking into account the high unit cost and rarity) in the process of production. The properties of the model are investigated; the existence, uniqueness and non-negativity of its solution proved. Since production wastes exceed 50% of the initial raw diamond weight, new processing technologies are required.
