Abstract
The article summarizes the results of sociological research in 2002-2004. On the basis of comparative empirical data, using the format of a questionnaire (drawing) in 2008-2010, the specifics of the symbolic perception of modern Russian politics by “Rostov students” are determined. The conclusion is made about positive changes, about the functions of symbols in the social interaction between students and politics: students more often perceive themselves as full-fledged subjects of politics, and negative “portraits” of the authorities have significantly decreased.
