Abstract
The article discusses one of the most contentious issues of Soviet-Japanese relations - the issue of conclusion and denunciation of the Neutrality Pact. Much attention is paid to the analysis of facts and trends that have had a decisive influence on the content of the Neutrality Pact. Analyzing its denunciation, the author pays particular attention to the international conditions and the international legal basis of documents that allowed the Soviet Union to abandon neutrality with Japan before the specified date. Based on a comprehensive analysis of documents, the author expesses his original view on denunciation of the Neutrality Pact and the entry of the Soviet Union into the war against Japan.
