Abstract
The social utopia appeared for the first time in literature at the beginning of the 19th century during the War of Independence in the works of J.J.Fernandez de Lizardi and I.M.Altamirano. Later, in the middle of the century, several socialist and liberal writers, essayists and politicians continued the utopian tradition. The most distinguished were a writer N. Pizarro. The common idea of the utopian romances in Mexico was the way to solution of poverty problems in the agro through the collective and communitarian land-tenure.
