- Contemporary Chilean writer R. Ampuero’s novel “President Allende’s Last Tango” (2012) is devoted to the tragic events of the Chilean history – coup of September 11, 1973, and the personality of President Allende, conveyed by the means of literary text and confidential discourse of two narrators: former CIA agent and a lifelong friend of President Allende.
