Abstract
The article is dealing with challenges to construction of monetary unions in contemporary economy with special attention, devoted to prospects for integration unions in Latin America. According to author's point of view, growing danger of currency wars as well as process of regionalization, which undermine power of sovereign states to manage properly their own economies, make rather clear prospects for creation of such unions in Latin America.
