- Abstract
- At the beginning of the 20th century U.S.-Japanese relations started to transform from friendship based on Washington patronizing and friendly vision of Tokyo to watchfulness due to growing colonial aspirations of Japan. Conflict between two countries increased in proportion with the growing of Japanese military strength. Hostility was also based on spreading American racism on Japanese immigration to the U.S. Japan becomes American rival in the Pacific.
