- Abstract
- The role of such fiduciary managers as trust protectors has increased in the USA since mid 1990s. Originated from offshore asset protection trusts, trust protectors were to veto the trustees' decisions to satisfy settlor's creditors claims. By the end of 1990-s a few states adopted trust laws which allowed setting up of domestic asset protection trusts almost similar to those of offshore. On top of that an assignment of trust advisors or protectors has also been allowed.
