Abstract
The article is focused on the analysis of modern trends in electronic voting currently practiced in the USA. The role and potential of remote electronic ballots casting are determined. Factors contributing to and preventing from broad implementation of internet-voting at the election process at different levels are identified. The author examines perspective of employment of internet-voting. The author also provides analysis of internet-voting dimension of the presidential electoral campaign of 2016. General findings suggest that there are technological capacity, social adaptability, economic expediency and at the same time political moderation in wide scale application of internet-voting in the U.S. election practice.
