- The paper discusses cinematic representations of psychiatric themes and pro fessionals in the U.S. cinema. Topics include psychoanalytic therapy, cathartic cure, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, narcissistic, schizoid and bipolar disorders, sociopathy and schizophrenia. The author demon strates the strong bidirectional relationship between movies and psychiatry.
