Abstract
Despite the fact that the main economic priorities of the United States are associated with high technologies and high-tech industrial production, an important basic role in the economic development of the country continues to be supported by the mining industry. This sector is developing expensive elements of basic economic infrastructure, maintaining a stable level of well-being and economic growth of various regions of the country. By this course the U.S. economy continues to consume much more volumes of primary minerals and energy than any other developed country.
