- Abstract
- The article delivers an analysis of U.S. - India relations at the beginning of the 21st century. The Washington policy towards New Delhi in the last period of Clinton administration and during G.W. Bush presidency is considered. The assessment of bilateral cooperation in democracy promotion is made. The author outlines major forces of U.S. foreign policy which participated in the forming attitude towards human rights violations in India. Key tendencies of Obama administration India policy are presented.
