First, the author briefly reviews the main think tanks for Chinese research, and then discusses three topics for discussion in the American expert community regarding bilateral relations: the policy of engagement with China, support for Taiwan and the concept of air-maritime operations and its criticism. The author concludes that the opinions of experts regarding China are largely based on their ideological preferences, the evolution of the Chinese state system and the balance of power between the PRC and the United States.</p>
Автор приходит к выводу, что мнения специалистов США в отношении Китая во многом строятся исходя из их идеологических предпочтений, эволюции китайской государственной системы и баланса сил между КНР и США.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>think tanks</kwd><kwd>expert community</kwd><kwd>U.S.-China relations</kwd><kwd>engagement with China</kwd><kwd>U.S.-Taiwan relations</kwd><kwd>air-sea operations</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>«мозговые центры</kwd><kwd>экспертное сообщество</kwd><kwd>американо-китайские отношения</kwd><kwd>взаимодействие с Китаем</kwd><kwd>американо-тайваньские отношения</kwd><kwd>воздушно-морские операции</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>B1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Сhina&amp;apos;s parallel with Germany before WWI.
